Hi Friends,
This week will be important as I will be starting the new newsletters in which I am going to talk about interesting facts that I read about countries and cities and I think that they will be very interesting. I hope that you do. For this week’s travelling ideas I have chosen to write about Helsinki and San Sebastian.
I am going to start with Helsinki as I find Finland a very interesting addition to the travel ideas list. I have found three interesting attractions to see in Helsinki. These are Sea Fortress Suomenlinna, Temppeliaukio Church and Helsinki Cathedral.
I am going to start with Sea Fortress Suomenlinna. is an inhabited sea fortress composed of eight islands, of which six have been fortified; it is about 4 km southeast of the city center of Helsinki, the capital of Finland.
The second tourist attraction is Temppeliaukio Church. Temppeliaukio Church is a modern church carved from rock. The church has a stunning copper dome. The church is used frequently as a concert venue due to its excellent acoustics.
My final suggestion for Helsinki is the Helsinki Cathedral. It is a distinctive landmark in the Helsinki cityscape, with its tall, green dome surrounded by four smaller domes, the building is in the neoclassical style. It is a major landmark of the city, and possibly the most famous structure in Finland as a whole when viewed globally.
My next destination suggestion is San Sebastian. If you go to San Sebastian you should visit Parte Vieja. Parte Vieja is a bustling neighbourhood located between Mount Urgull and the river Urumea and Concha Bay. In the center of the neighbourhood you can find Plaza de la Constitución where a drum festival takes place. The drum festival is called Tamborrada. You can also find a 16th century gothic church called San Vicente Church with its unique romanesque architecture.
Another place that you should definetely visit in San Sebastian is definetely San Telmo Museum. It is a museum of the Basque society located in Donostia-San Sebastián, addressing old and contemporary Basque culture, arts and history in a European, global context. It moved to its current location in 1932, Zuloaga plaza in the old town, at the foot of the hill Urgull.
I hope that you liked the newsletter friends!
Have a nice and productive week!
